Welcome to Essential Cleaning, a mindful cleaning company. We utilize the non-toxic power of essential oils in our custom plant-based cleaners. Essential Cleaning believes that these products and the service we provide will not only give you a clean home, but will have healing benefits that will uplift you and the atmosphere in your home. We are passionate about what we do and want to continue to spread awareness to our community that cleaning doesn't have to be toxic! 

Office Hours: Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You may get our voice mail if we are extremely busy. Please leave a detailed message.  Your call is very important to us, and we make every effort to return your calls promptly. Text messages are also a great way to communicate and will be returned in a more timely manner. 

Newsletters: Look out for Essential Cleaning newsletters coming to your email inbox!  Our newsletters will contain important updates on holiday closures, events, interesting DIY cleaning tidbits, coupons, specials, cleaning product deals, and information on additional services.  


Open Communication: Essential Cleaning strives for 100% customer satisfaction!  We value your trust and want you to feel safe to reach out to us to communicate any procedures, questions or concerns  that may arise.  Feel free to call, text or email us at any time. If a job does not meet your expectations, provide immediate feedback so that we can make corrections.

Preparation for Your Appointment: We recommend  that you prepare for our visit by straightening up beforehand. Areas that are very cluttered reduces the time staff can spend on deeper cleaning tasks.  If you would like a deep cleaning behind or under large furniture items, it is requested you move the item yourself as well as put it back.  Essential Cleaning believes in the importance of communication, so leaving notes is greatly appreciated.

Payment: An invoice will be emailed to each client for the full month of service at the beginning of each month. Any payment received after 5 business days of the invoice sent will be considered delinquent and may result in service disruption. You can access your account through your client portal located on our website. If you have an ongoing schedule with us, we encourage you to set up recurring payments through your secure client portal. If you would like to pay with cash or check, please contact the EC office for approval.

Late Fee: Overdue payments are subject to a late fee of $35.00. Essential Cleaning reserves all rights available under California law to collect any amounts due and owing pursuant to this agreement. We reserve the right to cancel service after two unpaid payments or recurring late payments.

Returned Check Fee: Returned checks are subject to a $35.00 processing fee. 

Cancellations and Rescheduling: You’re welcome to cancel or reschedule within 48  hours ( holidays and weekends included). We plan our schedule one month in advance, and our staff depends on the regular income of a full schedule. When a cleaning reservation is cancelled on short notice, we lose out on helping other clients. We will now be charging 30% of your agreed amount to our clients that cancel or reschedule without giving at least 48 hour notice. A 50% fee will be added if it is within the same day or a “lock-out” has occurred. Our goal is to have consistency with our monthly schedule.  Not only do schedule changes affect our staff, it can affect other clients.

Skip Clean: Please note there will be an additional fee of 20% added to your next invoice if you wish to reschedule your routine cleaning for a later date. For example: If you receive a bi-weekly service and need to skip a cleaning, your rate will increase by 20%. For more information please contact the Essential Cleaning manager.


Please Note: Due to changes in the economy and the cost of living, Essential Cleaning reserves the right to make periodic fee adjustments. Clients will be given a courtesy thirty day notice should the need to increase rates arises. 

Complete Service Cancellation: In your busy life, we understand that things come up suddenly. So, if it is necessary to cancel our services we do ask for a written 30 Day Notice either through text or email. This allows us time to fill our schedule. Please note Essential Cleaning reserves the right to terminate any contract at will. 



Vacation Policy: When you decide to take some time off, please let our office know at least 2 weeks prior to your vacation. We plan our schedule one month in advance. The sooner we know of your absence, the sooner we can fill the vacancy. If this is not done in the time given, there will be a charge to your account. Please refer to page 2 for the cancellation/reschedule fees. If the gap in cleaning services exceeds more than 30 days there may be a “first time cleaning fee” applied to your next cleaning. 

Estimated Arrival Time: Essential Cleaning gives an estimated  half an hour window of arrival. Our staff will call to let you know if they are significantly off schedule (more than thirty minutes early or late). While we schedule for travel time, we unfortunately cannot control traffic conditions.  Additionally, prior clients’ appointments may take more or less time than scheduled or be cancelled which can affect arrival time. We ask for your complete understanding and trust that we are doing the best we can to stay with the daily schedule. We will try to accommodate requests for “not before” or “not after” a specific time. You don’t have to be home to receive service, as long as access for entry is provided. 

Keys and Entry: We strongly encourage our ongoing clients to supply us with a key for entry. We keep keys in our office lockbox and give them out only on your cleaning day. In the unlikely event that a key is lost, we will notify you immediately and pay for key replacement, and changing locks if requested. Providing us with a key adds convenience and helps to avoid unintended lockout fees. We charge a 50% fee if we are unable to enter the premises for a scheduled appointment 

Pets: If you have pets, they must be secured at all times. For everyone's safety, our teams are instructed not to enter a home if they believe an animal could be of danger. In this case you would still be liable to pay for the cleaning service and would be contacted right away. As much as we love our pets and accept them as our own, we have to remember that pets may behave differently if a family member is not present. Special arrangements can be made to help this process run smoothly. Contact EC office for more info. 

Breakage or Damage: We train our staff to take extra care with your belongings, however occasional accidents do happen. Our staff is instructed to report breakage or damage immediately to the office and to you if you are available. If you believe that something has been damaged or broken by an Essential Cleaning team, we must hear about it within 24 hours after your appointment. We do not take responsibility for damage not reported within this time frame. Please take pictures for reference. 

Tipping: Tipping your cleaner(s) is optional and always welcome. Tips may be given directly to your cleaner(s) or added to your balance. Regularly scheduled clients: Extra tips for vacation cancellations (this may leave a gap in your regular cleaner’s schedule) and end of year monetary gifts are common. 


Added Services: If you would like to add something to your cleaning that was not originally agreed upon, please contact the EC office prior to your cleaning. It is important that we receive notification from you beforehand to ensure enough time is given and proper supplies are available. Please read what our “add on” services include and the cost affiliated before asking a teammate to complete. This can be found on the website or by calling the main office. 



Safety Precautions 


– For everyone's safety please do not ask our staff to... 


1. Use ladders other than the small step ladder we provide 

or climb on any furniture. Our staff carries extension poles to reach high areas.


2. Lift or move items over 20 lbs. We strive to move lighter furniture items to vacuum under but cannot be expected to move heavy couches that do not move easily, heavy tables, etc. due to possible injury.


3.. Clean up human or pet waste, blood or bodily fluids. Unsanitary bathroom conditions such as human waste, feminine products, diapers laying about, etc. that are not disposed of properly, or cleaned up prior to staff arrival, puts staff at risk for infections. We use gloves and masks for cleaning, but there are certain situations that can put staff at risk. Please be aware of this and act accordingly.



Products: Essential Cleaning provides the products and equipment necessary to clean your home. Our products are earth-friendly and completely safe for all surfaces. If you would like us to use a product we do not carry, then please provide that product and we will be happy to use it in your home. We cannot, however, guarantee the safety of products that you provide. Please ask our office if you would like more specific information on our products. 

Customized: Essential Cleaning is happy to customize cleanings to fit individual needs. Please communicate these needs to our management staff and we will be happy to accommodate you, so long as the requests are for tasks in which our cleaner has been professionally trained. We offer several different types of cleanings tailored to your needs.

Below is a list of the tasks performed on each type of cleaning, and how the time is used: 

Move-In/Move-Out/Post Construction Cleanings: These are deep cleanings in a house or apartment where there is little or no furniture, or in a home that has had recent construction. These cleanings are done from a list of priorities, typically completed via email between customer and Management. 

Ongoing House Cleanings: After the initial cleaning, we charge a fixed rate for regular service (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly). We may not be able to accommodate tri-weekly schedules. This rate includes the basic tasks listed below: 

Living Spaces: Dust knick-knacks, furniture, cobwebs and window sills; dust moldings and baseboards as needed; tidy the overall room appearance; vacuum floors and carpeting; and spot clean wood floors. 

Bathrooms: Scour all visible interior and exterior parts of toilets; clean sink, counter, cabinet face and mirror; scour shower/tub walls, floor and fixtures; dust shelving, knick- knacks, mirrors and picture frames; and clean flooring including behind the toilet. 

Kitchen: Clean exterior of large appliances; clean inside and outside of microwave; clean underneath and behind small appliances; clean countertops and cabinet faces; clean sink area; clean flooring.     


Optional Cleaning Services: 

Our customized system allows Essential Cleaning to provide an estimate on basic cleaning services which cover the tasks that the largest majority of our clients expect, as listed above. Additional cleaning services are provided upon request, for an additional charge. Popular optional cleaning services include, but are not limited to: 

✓ Change Bed Linens (must provide an additional set of clean linens. Please note: we can begin the laundry but may not be able to finish within the time allotted)

✓ Dust Blinds (we are only equipped to do a superficial blind dusting using a microfiber cloth. If you would like the blinds to be taken down and washed, please contact a professional window cleaning company) 

✓ Interior Windows and Tract Cleaning (we do not consider ourselves a professional window cleaning company. This service is provided for your convenience. Please contact a professional window cleaning company if you desire a more detailed job. Please note: we only clean interior windows due to safety reasons)

✓ Inside Oven (ovens can be a tricky clean especially with the type of products we use. You have the option to provide us with your own oven cleaner or allow us to do our best with our Omnivera Cleaning Products. In some cases oven cleanings can leave scratches because of the intensity of scrubbing. If we notice this is happening we will stop the process immediately and try another route)

✓ Inside Refrigerator and Freezer (occasionally, we may need the freezer to be defrosted before we can complete a proper cleaning)

✓ Inside Cabinets/Drawers (this additional service is mostly recommended for move in/out cleanings. We will do a light wipe out of the cabinets and drawers throughout your home or as specified)

If you’re not satisfied with the job we did, please notify us within 24 hours of service completion. Please know that each job may vary from time to time dependent on many different factors. We do appreciate your understanding in occasional human error and oversight. Communication is key!

Referrals: Please let your friends and family know about us. If someone you refer to us uses our services just once you will earn $25 for the referral. Please email our office to let us know who you have referred so that we can properly track and credit you.
